First Date Disaster

Joonmyun checks his reflection on the closed elevator doors, making sure that every strand of his hair was in place, that there were no blemishes of any sort on his face, and that there wasn't anything stuck in between his teeth. He has the bouquet of flowers that he's bought from the flower shop across the street to his apartment in hand and he thinks he's all set.

He's in the middle of trying to figure out whether the spot on his nose was a pimple or just a mosquito bite when the elevator doors slide open. He removes his hand from his nose and is about to step in when he sees Sehun.

"Oh hey," Joonmyun greets him with a dorky wave. "I was coming up to your apartment."

"I thought we were meeting here at the lobby," Sehun responds, looking confused. Then he shrugs and takes in Joonmyun's outfit that he's taken great pains (or should he say Baekhyun's taken great pains) to put together. He knows he looks good in his simple shirt and dark jeans with a blazer on.

"Your nose is red," Sehun observes, smiling a little.

Joonmyun reaches up to rub his nose when he remembers the flowers. "Oh here!" He somewhat hastily thrusts them into Sehun's arms. "For you," he adds, blushing a deep shade of red when Sehun does.

"Thank you," Sehun mumbles, face clearly too hot for a cool day.

Joonmyun coughs. "So... shall we go?" He offers his arm to Sehun when he nods.

Joonmyun didn't think there could be so many things that could go wrong in a date.

When Joonmyun walks them to the car that he's borrowed from Jongin, a black Hyundai Genesis Coupe that he's promised not to crash anywhere, he presses on the key to open the locks and proceeds to open the passenger door for Sehun.

Except it doesn't open.

So Joonmyun inserts the key through the keyhole and the whole car erupts into a loud series of alarms that have them both stepping back from the car.

As it turns out, it isn't Jongin's car. Joonmyun had forgotten where he'd parked and had mistaken it for the one he's driven there.

Joonmyun wishes that the ground would swallow him whole when Sehun erupts into loud laughter.

"Do you want to go for a walk instead?" Joonmyun asks, clearing his throat from embarrassment.

Sehun flushes and stops laughing. "Sure."

The restaurant is near and they are seated right by the window, overlooking the beautiful Han River and Joonmyun thinks that nothing can go wrong now.

But then, right in the middle of their dinner, Joonmyun knocks down the glass of wine right onto Sehun's jacket and Joonmyun thinks he's the worst date ever.

He stands to fuss over him, his fork clattering to the floor in the process.

Joonmyun buries his face in his hands as Sehun leaves to fix himself up in the washroom.

He really, really likes Sehun but everything he does just seems to be messed up. It's true that he's been awkward all his life, but he wishes that at least something would go right because he doesn't want this to be his last date with Sehun.

Shortly after, there's a hand on his back and Sehun's ushering him off his seat so that they could leave the restaurant. Joonmyun notices that he's taken his jacket off and is just wearing his shirt instead.

They decide to take a walk by Han River, watching in silence as people milled by around them, some riding bikes. Joonmyun sighs inwardly as a light wind gushes towards them. He looks at Sehun and notices that he's slightly shivering. Without a second thought, Joonmyun takes his blazer off and shrugs it in Sehun's shoulders. Sehun opens his mouth in surprise then smiles at him, pulling it snugger on his body.

They take a seat on one of the benches and Joonmyun thinks he should just say it before Sehun does. He doesn't want to prolong his agony any longer.

"I'm sorry," Joonmyun blurts out and Sehun looks at him, startled. "I'm sorry about everything today," he continues, staring at the ground as he kicks at the dust near his shoe. "I know it was a disaster and that you probably don't want to see me again and that's okay because I wouldn't want to see me again seeing as I'm such a walking--"

Sehun cuts him off with a kiss on his lips. Joonmyun's eyes widen for a second before he sighs and kisses him back.

"I think it's the most interesting and funniest date I've ever been on," Sehun says and a dark blush takes over his face. "So I wouldn't mind you asking me out again."

Joonmyun gapes at him, and then he's caught in between smiling and laughing that it comes out as a very unflattering snort instead. He groans and turns a deep shade of red.

"You're so cute, Joonmyun," Sehun giggles as he kisses him again.

Joonmyun sighs into the kiss once more and thinks how this has got to be the best first date ever.

A awkward but cute date is indeed just like Suho and Sehun ^^, Suho thinking too much, about having a perfect date that he felt so disappointed when everything gone wrong. On the other hand, Sehun found all the failures of his plan cute. I love them both, my milk candy couple :D
